This entry is coming a day and a half too late... oops! Yesterday marked the opening day of the 13th annual Sri Chinmoy Self Transcendence 3,100-Mile Race. The race, which is sponsored by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team, was the subject of my recent documentary, The Spirit of a Runner. ![]() Good luck to the 13 runners who embarked on this incredible journey yesterday. The Marathon Team keeps a pretty up-to-date race blog, so check it out if you're curious to see how Suprabha and the other runners are doing! Also, they love the support they get from the local community. If anyone happens to be in or around Queens this summer, stop by and cheer them on!

I'm excited to announce that The Spirit of a Runner will screen as a part of a special "running films" program at the 33rd annual Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts in July. The film will headline a special shorts program titled Running with a Purpose and will be held at the State Theatre in downtown State College. The screening will follow the Sue Crowe Memorial 10k road race, and will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 12. Proceeds from the screening will benefit the State Theatre and the Nittany Valley Running Club. The screening will include the following films: If you happen to be in Oklahoma City this weekend, check out A Tradition of Sound at the deadCenter Film Festival. It will be playing at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 12 at the Untitled Artspace located at 1 NE 3rd Street. Click here for a map and for more information. |
